The three ticket-buying deadlines that matter most

If you only track three dates, track these. September 11, 2026 is when Sundance Institute published full 2027 ticket pricing, so comparison shopping is now possible using the confirmed figures in our tickets and passes guide. October 15, 2026 is the confirmed public on-sale date for festival passes and ticket packages (donor presale October 5, member presale October 13), with product-specific access and reservation rules to check before buying. January 8, 2027 is the confirmed public on-sale date for single-film tickets (donor presale January 6, member presale January 7), once the December lineup announcement lets buyers pick specific titles.

Deadlines that are easy to miss

A few dates on this calendar aren’t ticket on-sale dates at all, but they affect who gets early access or a spot at the festival. The Sundance Institute Donor Circles early-access window, with eligibility and exact sale timing to check on the official membership page, lets members and donors reserve passes before the general public. Volunteers face their own deadlines that run parallel to the ticket calendar: a September 18, 2026 cutoff for management and leadership roles and an October 2, 2026 priority deadline for returning volunteers. How to avoid missing an on-sale date

None of these on-sale windows have exact times published yet, and Sundance Institute has historically announced them with only a few weeks’ notice. The most reliable approach is to create your Sundance account now (see our tickets guide for how), follow Sundance Institute’s official channels directly, and check this page periodically. We update the status column as soon as Sundance Institute confirms a new date.

Save the right kind of deadline

• Eligibility: when a membership must be active to qualify for early access.
• Purchase: when your pass, package or individual ticket goes on sale.
• Selection: when a package holder can reserve particular screenings.
• Attendance or viewing: when you must arrive, start a film or finish watching it.

The official membership page lists October 1, 2026 and January 2, 2027 as eligibility deadlines, but also retains older festival-year information. Confirm your membership tier and applicable benefits directly before paying; these are not general-public sale dates.
