Sundance’s official lodging site now lists 489 Boulder properties

Quick answer

Sundance Institute’s own booking platform, lodging.sundance.org, returns 489 properties as of a September 7 recheck, up from 463 in late August in Boulder when searched against the January 21–25, 2027 festival dates, not just hotels but hundreds of private vacation homes managed through the platform, alongside chain hotels across Boulder and the surrounding towns. It’s worth checking before you book elsewhere: it includes Hotel Boulderado itself, and Sundance Institute says bookings made through it support the Institute directly.

Why this is worth a look before you book elsewhere

Our own hotel guide has said Boulder’s short-term rental supply is smaller than a resort town’s, because the city requires hosts to hold a Short-Term Rental License and, for most license types, to live on-site. That’s still accurate for the open market: general Airbnb and VRBO searches. But the Sundance platform itself has aggregated a much larger block of vacation-home inventory than we expected, much of it tagged as professionally managed through the platform’s own concierge partner. If you’re choosing between a hotel and a rental, this is the first place to check availability, not the last.

Hotel Boulderado, confirmed as the festival’s headquarters hotel, is bookable directly through the platform too, alongside the CU Boulder-area and regional options our hotels guide already covers by zone.

How to use it

Go to lodging.sundance.org and enter your check-in and check-out dates before judging what’s available. The default view without dates shows only a small curated set labeled “Value Spotlight” and “Preferred Partner,” which understates what’s actually bookable. Searching with real festival dates surfaces the full list. Properties are organized by destination (Boulder, Denver, Estes Park, and others), so you can filter to the area that matches the zone guidance in our hotels guide.

If you’d rather book by phone, or want to confirm a listing’s cancellation terms before committing online, the platform lists a direct reservations line: 720-585-3600.

What we can’t tell you yet

We didn’t record specific nightly rates during this check, since nothing meaningfully binding exists this far from the festival and rates shift constantly. Our hotels guide has the full walking-time and area-by-area breakdown; use this platform to check real availability once you’ve decided which zone fits your trip. For lodging outside Boulder proper, our Denver and Estes Park lodging roundup covers the regional options this platform also lists.
